Lev Erenburg is a director and former student of Georgy Tovstonogov, artistic director of Nebolshoy Drama Theatre (St. Petersburg). He teaches acting if Baltic Institute of Foreign Languages, holds master-classes in Prague Theatre Institute (Czech Republic) and co-operates with Moscow Arts Theatre (MHAT) named after Chekhov as a director. Lev Erenburg is a nominee and a prize-winner of the National Theatre Golden Mask Prize for the following productions: The Lower Depths, The Storm and Vassa Zheleznova. The critics called this director from St. Petersburg the “director of Russian pain – a wise and talented director, entirely poisoned by the profession and the one who opens the depths of soul in a way no one else can do.”
